Playavera Hotel, also known as ‘Hotel Vera Playa Club’ or ‘Vera Playa Hotel’ or various other similar names, is Spain’s first naturist hotel and is located seaside in the town of Vera in the Almeria region of Spain.

It is a family and pet-friendly 4-star naturist hotel that also happens to find itself right in the middle of Spain’s most famous 2km stretch of nude beach…Vera Playa!

It also happens to be very LGBTQIA+ friendly, which probably makes a lot of sense given it is located on a strip that is dotted with various gay bars and clubs.

With a lively atmosphere, resort-like vibes and facilities, a plethora of surrounding night life, all-inclusive packages and plenty of activities to take part in, it’s easy to see why many guests return year after year, and why this has become one of the premier destinations for naturists from all around the world.

And whilst it is a naturist hotel, it is only so for the most part; because they actually enforce ‘clothing compulsory’ hours between 8pm - 8am…something I was not aware of when booking. Whoops! Well, I had fun dressing up in the evenings anyway, so I made the most of it!

In this episode, you’ll join me for my 5 night stay at the hotel back in July 2024. You’ll join me for the drive from El Portus, where, upon arrival at the hotel, I get to use a bell trolley to transport my luggage from my car to my hotel room…all in the nude! Then I set about settling in and give you a tour of my studio room and then a more in-depth tour of the hotel and all of its facilities.

We’ll take a morning dip in the gorgeous outdoor pool and enjoy some time in the jacuzzi and outdoor shower before heading back to the hotel room to make some lunch and do some work. I also happened to unknowingly book during Pride weekend in Vera, so you’ll get to glimpse some of the Pride Parade out the front of the hotel. I’ll also show you around the shops, bars and clubs just out the front of the hotel too. You’ll also enjoy some time with me up on the sun terrace that overlooks Vera Playa.

We’ll enjoy a morning at the indoor pool that I have all to myself. And to conclude the episode, I’ll be giving you an in-depth, candid tell-all about my stay and thoughts on the hotel, its facilities, staff, and clothing-compulsory policy…just before packing up to head off on my next Spanish naturist adventure.

The hotel boasts around 280 rooms, ranging from single and double studios, 1 bedroom apartments and various suites. All accommodation options also offer half-board or full board.

The hotel’s facilities consist of an indoor and outdoor pool, jacuzzi, free wifi, onsite restaurant, bar, laundry service, sun terrace, table tennis, mini golf, small gym and library, shooting gallery and various other games.

The hotel is also renowned for its ‘animacion’ team and the various, daily activities that they organise for guests. Anything from dance classes, to karaoke, to aqua gym, to pool volleyball games and so much more! Honestly, if you know anyone that visits this hotel frequently enough, I’m certain they’ll mention the amazing ‘animacion’ team!

The hotel’s restaurant only offers a buffet option for breakfast, lunch and dinner as there is no a la carte menu. And whilst I only enjoyed a couple of buffet dinners, the buffet wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad value for money.

So, the big take away that could be the deciding factor in whether or not you choose to stay at this specifically renowned hotel is that, you are required to be clothed between the hours of 8pm - 8am. You are free to be naked everywhere within the hotel outside of these ‘clothing-compulsory’ hours. So, some may or may not be a fan of this policy. If you are wanting to spend your vacation/nakation in the nude, this may not be the most ideal place for you.

On a side note: whilst you can be naked in many areas along Vera Playa, I would suggest looking at a map for exactly where you can be naked, as there are also textile places within the area. Unfortunately, the hotel didn’t provide me with the ‘naturist zone’ map.
