Noosa Nudist Retreat - a controversial sensual nudist retreat
46m
In the first episode of my new series, Nude Stays Australia, I meet up with Tara on the Sunshine Coast to visit the ‘controversial’ nudist retreat ‘Noosa Nudist Retreat’.
Not your average nudist retreat, this is a nudist retreat with a ‘sensual’ twist. With over 10,000 hectares of lush garden, the retreat has been enjoyed by those looking for a naturist-only experience and those also looking to explore their desires, fantasies and the more sensual side of their human nature. Having operated as a sensual nudist bed and breakfast for over a decade, and unlike most nudist retreats, this retreat boasts a BDSM room, an outdoor sex swing and a very unique (and rather notorious) man-made rock cave that has a spa, fireplace and massage table.
I first visited the retreat at the beginning of 2016, and it was actually that visit that inspired the beginnings of my blog, ‘The Nude Blogger’!
Fast forward to July 2021 and I finally made it back, spending two nights at the retreat with my nudie gal pal Tara. We bring you along with us as we relax by the pool, explore the property, enjoy an evening in the spa in the infamous rock cave (with LOTS of bubbles, thanks Tara!), and play a game of nude pool! You also get a glimpse into the notorious BDSM room where many have come to fulfil some of their wildest fantasies.
Over the years, the retreat and its polarising owner, Rainer Mueckenberger, have sparked much debate and controversy within the local nudist community. With some nudists arguing that his retreat has smeared and further stigmatised the nudist movement, I decided to ask Rainer all the tough questions in a candid interview. We discuss what it means to be a nudist, his ethos around his ‘sensual’ retreat, where it all started and what his vision for the retreat is.
Rainer opened his doors to nudists in 2010 and only recently sold the property in June 2021. At 72, and after a decade running the retreat, Rainer has relocated to the Gympie area to start a new chapter where he plans to write some books and enjoy his private property. He hasn’t ruled out potentially opening up another nudist retreat in the future.
When I first started 'The Nude Blogger' (which, in part, was inspired by my first stay at Noosa Nudist Retreat at the beginning of 2016), a part of my mission statement was (and still is!) to cultivate kindness, understanding, compassion, respect and tolerance by seeing and experiencing the world, not only through my eyes but, through the eyes of others.
So whilst he may have sold the retreat, this overarching message is more relevant than ever.
In joy this juicy episode!
Nude hugs,
Jessa
