Back in June 2022, and as part of our exploration of the nudist scene in North Queensland, Katya and I visited one of the prettiest nude beaches I have visited thus far...
BALDING BAY.
Join us as we explore this highly-regarded nude beach that is well off the beaten path...but well worth the effort to get to.
Surrounded by boulderous granite headlands and towering hoop pines, Balding Bay is an unofficial nude beach that is located on the stunning Magnetic Island in Queensland, Australia.
Located 1.3km from Horseshoe Bay, the trek through the Magnetic Island National Park is a beautiful one...but a somewhat challenging one.
It is regarded as a 'grade 4' walking track, with some steep inclines and declined...and A LOT of stairs.
You'll need to set aside at least an hour for the walk there and back. So, I suggest making a day of it and packing yourself lots of water and some supplies to enjoy once you're finally on the beach.
In this video, we bring you along for the journey over on the ferry from Townsville (on the mainland). The one hour ferry ride sees us enjoying some dirty dancing...woo! We then bring you along for the hike and have yet another moment with the drone (as per 'Coral Bay' episode). Then, and after much anticipation...the reveal of one of the prettiest nude beaches I have visited thus far...a breathtaking cove with calm waters and a backdrop that will have your jaw on the floor.
Set aside 45 minutes to enjoy the giggles, serenity, beauty and freedom that this episode exudes.
